Horsemen protocols for Maryland Million announced

(Maryland Thoroughbred Horsemen's Association Release)

The Maryland Jockey Club has released the following protocols for the upcoming Maryland Million Oct. 22 at Laurel Park.
Horses stabled at Laurel, Pimlico Race Course and Fair Hill Training Center will be receiving training towels that must be worn beginning Thursday, Oct. 20.
Horses stabled at a racetrack other than Laurel, Pimlico, and Fair Hill must let the entry clerk know the track at which the horse is stabled and will have a time set up with a regulatory veterinarian at that track to observe the horse.
Horses stabled at a farm must have their private veterinarian send Dr. Dionne Benson (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) an email stating that they have examined the horse—including palpation of the front limbs and observation of the horse at a jog—and in their opinion the horse is cleared to run. The examination must occur within three days of entering the horse. Entry day for the Maryland Million program is Wednesday, Oct 19.
